Southland Tales: One of the WEIRDEST Movies I’ve Ever Seen…

Southland Tales DVD Cover
So, I was watching Southland Tales yesterday and I was completely lost through out the ENTIRE movie. There was NO part of the movie I understood. I cannot say that it was a bad movie because I didn’t understand it and that wouldn’t be fair.
Now for those who don’t know, it stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seann William Scott, Justin Timberlake, Bai Ling, Mandy Moore and a whole bunch of other people.
I looked at the Southland Tales profile @ IMDB [Internet Movie Data Base]. I was reading through the forums and someone said that in order to fully understand the movie, you need to read the book first. If that’s true, then that is SO unfair. I HATE those kinds of movies. I shouldn’t have to do research to be entertained. If I have to read the stupid book, then WHY watch the movie?
Anyway, the main thing that threw me COMPLETELY off was Justin Timberlake’s random musical number.  One minute he was talking to a guy and the next minute he was singing a fuckin’ song. I was completely and utterly confused. And still am.
What is the purpose of the movie? Gosh, Southland Tales was more confusing than The Matix and The Borne Identity.

Is File-Sharing Stealing?

I do NOT think file-sharing is stealing.

The reason why I say is because you are sharing files (hence the name, duh) with other people who have the file you are downloading. How the fuck is that stealing? If someone is nice enough to share with me a good quality MP3, movie or video game?

And then the downloader gets sued? Shit, if ANYONE gotta be sued, it should be the person who is SHARING the file for everyone to use. Not the consumer. It’s just like turning down a gift of something that was brought with questionable money. WE didn’t steal the fuckin’ money, why I gotta go to jail if I didn’t know where the money was from? Someone was nice enough to give me something ;; I’m not gonna ask the person where they got the money (or item) from – that’ll be rude. Right?

But to be real, why the RIAA, MPAA and all those other AA’s gotta stick their noses in people’s IP addresses any damn way? You shouldn’t be charging folks 50 for a damn DVD. That’s ridiculous. Then you brought the DVD and the movie was HORRIBLE. Bad actors, stupid plot, bad effects — just a waste of money. But if you DOWNLOAD it free, watch the movie and didn’t like it, you SAVED 50 bucks and you can pitch that movie in your Recycle Bin. Which would you rather do?

Now I can see if people are STEALING the MP3’s from musician’s cell phones, studios and shit and then put it up on the internet for people to have, then YES that is wrong. But if we are clueless on where the source is coming from, don’t fault the downloader but the person who UPLOADED the file or torrent. Investigate THEIR IP address, not ours.

Well, that’s just my opinion.
